| | I have issues with my father. He's a workaholic and was never really around when I was a kid. That being said all of my physical needs were cared for, even if the emotional ones were ignored. Dad never did learn how to be there for me, though he is trying to be a better father. We still have our fights and arguments, but they aren't near as bad as they used to be.
Today, I realized that he thinks of me more then I thought he did. I got off work long before Dad did and was home in my room when he came in and opened a box in front of me. Inside was a Bose Soundsystem. One of those really cool ones for the iPod! I mean Bose is like the forerunner in soundsystems! And Dad got one for me. I know it isn't brand new, but that isn't the point. He gave me a toy that he knew I'd love. I've had it playing all afternoon.
For all the things that we disagree on, for all the arguments we've had, for as often as we butt heads, I do love my father, even if he is a pain sometimes.
I know you'll never read this, Dad, because I'll never show it to you and you're too computer illiterate to figure anything out. But just know that I do love you, for all my attitude and bitchyness. Thanks Dad.
